Hello! I’m Brianna Mercado. I’m a dance artist, choreographer, coach, and educator based in New York City and New England.
I earned my B.A. in Dance & Performance Studies and Social Welfare from the University of California Berkeley (Go Bears!) and certifications in Mind-Body Medicine and Integrative Wellness Coaching from Saybrook University. I am a National Board Certified-Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), a triathlete, and a two-time cancer survivor—experiences that have deeply shaped my curiosities about performance, embodied storytelling, and endurance.
I most recently choreographed 3Penny Opera off-broadway, proudly bringing Brecht to the modern stage. In 2025, I made my broadway debut as the associate of dance sequences for Floyd Collins at the Lincoln Center. Proud moments have also included choreographing “Angelo’s Song” for the Public Theater’s Mobile Unit: A Comedy of Errors, choreographing Rhythm of the Night for Azamara Cruises, and giving a TEDx talk. When I am not in rehearsals, you can find me teaching classes at Peridance Center, Broadway Dance Center, and Boston Dance Studios, cuddling my pitbull, or training for my next triathlon!
I consider myself an expert in the art of optimism and resiliency. I plan to use (in the words of Mary Oliver) my one wild and precious life to create impactful art, dance many dances, decrease World Suck Levels, and empower people to live a life they love.
My dream is to always be involved with work that uplifts and inspires the world for future generations. Thank you for coming to see what I am up to. May our paths cross soon.
love and light,
Brianna
